Attendees: Doug Lohmeier, John Ranz, Stiney Vonderhaar, Chief Cruse, Chief Hauck, Chief Korte, Jack Cameron, Mayor Apking, Cindy Vaske, Charles Gerhardt, James Bendict
I. Police
a. Chief Korte informed the committee that he has selected Lynne Thomas to fill the part-time evening clerk’s position.
b. Chief Korte presented the committee a manpower review and its affects with the retirement of Lt. Phillips. After discussions the committee was in support to replace Lt. Phillips. Chief Korte will have to start the hiring testing and hiring process from the beginning because we do not have an active candidate list.
c. Teen Dance Ordinance- There was nothing new from the solicitor’s office for suggested changes. Chief Korte requested we still pursue creating an ordinance to regulate these dances.
d. Traffic Calming Device- Chief Korte informed the committee the unit has been in use throughout the village. We have one unit and 8 brackets stationed throughout the Village.
II. Fire
1. Change in status for department specialist will be presented in an ordinance since recent promotions affected the list that was in place.
2. Chief Curse advised the committee an ordinance to promote personnel to captains will be on the agenda.
III. Recreation
a. No report
IV. Other Items
a. Mayor Apking presented a list of items for capital improvements over the next 5 years to be considered. He asked the committee to review and make suggestions for next month’s meeting.
